Kara “Bean” E. Santorelli Award

We dedicate this award category to the memory of  Golden Elite Alumna, Kara “Bean” Elizabeth Santorelli, who left us too soon on March 17th this year at just 18 years old.

Kara’s journey with Golden Elite started in 2017, a small but mighty bundle of enthusiasm that instantly captured our coaches’ hearts. Her radiant smile illuminated the track, and her determination was boundless. She was a young athlete who never complained, never gave up, and always inspired.

From her obituary, we discovered that Kara wasn’t just an athlete; she was a true force. At only eight years old, living in Okinawa, Japan, she ran her first half marathon and impressively claimed 4th place among all female runners. Her dedication and drive were truly exceptional.

As we remember Kara “Bean” Elizabeth Santorelli, let’s not only honor her memory but also treasure the bonds that unite us as a community. Let her story inspire us to embrace life’s fleeting moments, love unconditionally, and support one another through all of life’s challenges and triumphs.

May Kara’s legacy continue to shine brightly, a reminder that even in adversity, our spirits can rise like stars, forever woven into the fabric of time.
